Introduction

Welcome to Contractor Money, also known as C-Money, a service operated by Colo Transport Co. ("C-Money," "we," "us," or "our"). C-Money provides business management software specifically designed for independent contractors, including tools for job management, estimate generation, invoicing, and business analytics.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy.

This Policy applies to all users of our Platform, including independent contractors ("Contractors"), their customers, and visitors to our website.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve our services. The types of information we gather fall into the following categories:

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, business name, and login credentials when you create an account.
  • Business Profile Data: Trade specialties, service areas, licensing information, insurance details, and professional credentials.
  • Financial Information: Payment card details, bank account information for receiving payments, and billing address for subscription services.
  • Job and Transaction Records: Customer details, job descriptions, estimates, invoices, payment history, and project documentation you enter into the Platform.
  • Communications: Messages sent through our Platform, customer support inquiries, and feedback you provide.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and Browser Data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Usage Information: Pages viewed, features used, actions taken, time spent on the Platform, and navigation patterns.
  • Location Data: With your permission, we may collect precise location information from your mobile device to enable location-based features such as job tracking and service area mapping.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to enhance your experience and gather analytics. See Section 7 for details.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Payment Processors: Transaction details and verification information from payment service providers such as Stripe.
  • Business Partners: Information from partners who refer contractors to our Platform or provide complementary services.
  • Public Sources: Publicly available business information, licensing databases, and professional registrations.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

2.1 Providing and Operating Our Services

  • Creating and managing your account
  • Processing estimates, invoices, and payments
  • Enabling AI-powered estimate generation and job management features
  • Facilitating SMS invoicing and customer communications
  • Providing customer support and responding to inquiries

2.2 Improving and Developing Our Platform

  • Analyzing usage patterns to enhance functionality
  • Developing new features and tools for contractors
  • Creating aggregated, de-identified industry benchmarks and analytics
  • Training and improving our AI-powered estimation algorithms

2.3 Communications

  • Sending transactional messages such as account confirmations, billing notifications, and service updates
  • Providing marketing communications about new features, promotions, and contractor resources (with your consent where required)
  • Responding to your questions and requests

2.4 Safety and Security

  • Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
  • Enforcing our Terms of Service and other policies
  • Complying with legal obligations and responding to lawful requests

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We may share information in the following circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

We engage third-party companies to perform services on our behalf, including payment processing, cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, and customer support. These providers access only the information necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to protect your data.

3.2 Business Transactions

If C-Money is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process; protect the rights, safety, or property of C-Money, our users, or the public; or detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.

3.4 With Your Consent

We may share information with third parties when you direct us to do so or provide explicit consent.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. After account termination, we may retain certain information as required by law, for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes, enforcing our agreements, and maintaining security. Job records and financial transaction data may be retained for the period required by applicable tax and business record-keeping regulations.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure server infrastructure, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

6.1 Access and Portability

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and obtain a copy in a portable format.

6.2 Correction

You may update or correct inaccurate information through your account settings or by contacting us.

6.3 Deletion

You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions required by law or legitimate business needs.

6.4 Marketing Communications

You may opt out of promotional emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing message. You will continue to receive transactional and service-related communications.

6.5 Location Data

You may disable location services through your device settings. Note that some features may not function properly without location access.

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our Platform, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and deliver relevant content. The types of cookies we use include:

8. Third-Party Links and Services

Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external sites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

9. QuickBooks Online Integration

When you choose to connect your QuickBooks Online account to Contractor Money, we access and process certain data from your QuickBooks account to provide seamless accounting integration.

9.1 QuickBooks Data We Access

With your authorization, we access the following data from your QuickBooks Online account:

  • Company Information: Your business name, address, and basic company settings
  • Customer Records: Customer names, contact information, addresses, and account details
  • Products and Services: Your QuickBooks product/service catalog, descriptions, and pricing
  • Invoices: Invoice records, line items, amounts, dates, and status
  • Payments: Payment records, amounts, dates, and payment methods
  • Chart of Accounts: Income account information for categorizing transactions

9.2 How We Use QuickBooks Data

We use the data accessed from QuickBooks to:

  • Display your QuickBooks customers and data within Contractor Money's interface
  • Automatically create invoices in QuickBooks when you send them through our platform
  • Record payments in QuickBooks when you log them in Contractor Money
  • Sync customer information between platforms to avoid duplicate data entry
  • Match line items with your QuickBooks products and services
  • Provide you with unified financial reporting across both platforms

9.3 QuickBooks Data Storage and Security

We handle your QuickBooks data with the following security measures:

  • OAuth 2.0 Authentication: We use industry-standard OAuth 2.0 protocol. We never store your QuickBooks username or password
  • Encrypted Storage: QuickBooks access tokens are encrypted at rest in our secure database
  • Secure Transmission: All data transmitted between Contractor Money, your browser, and QuickBooks is encrypted using TLS/SSL
  • Limited Access: Only authorized systems and personnel have access to QuickBooks integration data
  • Automatic Token Refresh: We automatically refresh access tokens to maintain secure connections

9.4 Data Sharing with QuickBooks

When you use the QuickBooks integration, we share data back to QuickBooks (not with third parties) in the following scenarios:

  • When you send an invoice through Contractor Money, we create or update it in QuickBooks
  • When you record a payment, we create a payment record in QuickBooks
  • When you add a customer, we may create the customer record in QuickBooks

We do not sell or share your QuickBooks data with third parties for marketing purposes.

9.5 QuickBooks Data Retention

Regarding data from QuickBooks:

  • We store QuickBooks OAuth tokens for as long as you keep the integration connected
  • We cache certain QuickBooks data (like customer lists) temporarily to improve performance
  • When you disconnect QuickBooks, we delete your OAuth tokens within 30 days
  • Cached QuickBooks data is automatically cleared after disconnection
  • Historical sync records may be retained for troubleshooting purposes as described in our general data retention policy

9.6 Your QuickBooks Data Rights

You have the following rights regarding your QuickBooks data:

  • Disconnect at Any Time: You can disconnect the QuickBooks integration from your Contractor Money settings
  • Revoke Access: You can revoke Contractor Money's access through your Intuit account settings
  • Data Portability: Your data remains in QuickBooks and you can export it directly from QuickBooks at any time
  • Control Syncing: You can choose which data syncs by controlling your actions in Contractor Money

9.7 QuickBooks Privacy Practices

Your use of QuickBooks Online is also subject to Intuit's Privacy Statement. We recommend reviewing Intuit's Privacy Policy to understand how Intuit handles your QuickBooks data.

9.8 Changes to QuickBooks Integration

If we make material changes to how we handle QuickBooks data, we will notify you via email and provide you the option to disconnect the integration if you don't agree with the changes.

10. SMS Appointment Notifications Program

Contractor Money enables service professionals to send SMS (text message) notifications to their customers in connection with scheduled service appointments. This section describes how we handle SMS communications sent through our platform.

10.1 Types of Messages

Customers who have scheduled service may receive the following types of text messages:

  • Appointment reminders and confirmations
  • Technician arrival and en-route notifications
  • Scheduling and rescheduling alerts
  • Job completion updates
  • Estimate approval links
  • Invoice and payment links

10.2 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on scheduled service appointments. Customers typically receive 1-5 messages per appointment.

10.3 Consent and Opt-In

Customers provide consent to receive SMS messages when they schedule service through our platform, by phone, or in person. During the scheduling process, customers provide their mobile phone number and explicitly agree to receive appointment-related text messages. Consent is obtained before the first message is sent. 10.4 Opt-Out

Recipients may unsubscribe from SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, a confirmation message will be sent and no further texts will be delivered from that campaign. Reply START to resubscribe.

10.5 Help

For assistance, recipients may reply HELP to any message or contact us at support@c-money.app.

10.6 Message & Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Recipients should contact their wireless carrier for details about their messaging plan.

10.7 Data Use

Phone numbers collected for SMS notifications are used solely to deliver appointment-related messages. We do not sell, share, or use phone numbers for marketing purposes unrelated to the scheduled service. Phone numbers and message records are retained in accordance with our data retention practices described in Section 4.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Platform is designed for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16 years of age. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the information below.

12. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers maintain facilities. By using our Platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection rules.

13. Do Not Track Signals

Some web browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. At this time, our Platform does not respond to Do Not Track signals. For more information about Do Not Track, visit www.allaboutdnt.com.

14. State-Specific Privacy Rights

Residents of certain states have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), and similar laws in other states. This section describes those rights and how to exercise them.

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights:

Right to Know

You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, our purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared it.

Right to Access and Data Portability

You may request a copy of your personal information in a readily usable format.

Right to Correction

You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information.

Right to Deletion

You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.

Right to Opt Out

You may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. C-Money does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We may share information with advertising partners for targeted advertising purposes, and you can opt out by visiting the cookie preferences section of our website.

Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

14.2 Submitting Requests

To exercise your rights, please contact us using the information in Section 16. We will verify your identity before processing your request by matching information you provide with information we have on file. You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf.

14.3 Response Timeline

We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days of receipt. If additional time is required (up to 90 days total), we will notify you of the extension and explain the reason.

14.4 Appeals

If we decline your request, you may appeal our decision by contacting us at the address below. We will respond to appeals within 60 days. If your appeal is denied, you may have the right to file a complaint with your state attorney general or applicable privacy authority.

14.5 California-Specific Disclosures

California residents may also contact the California Privacy Protection Agency at https://cppa.ca.gov/ to file a complaint.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this Policy and notify you through the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.
